The first 6 weeks of 2026 have been interesting. For many of my clients, it rained interviews and offers.
Yes, the market has picked up. But that’s only part of the story.
Because when the market was slow, they weren’t waiting.
They were Always Be Careering.
- They were networking consistently, even when nothing seemed to come out of it.
- They were seeking advice from mentors and industry leaders, not crowdsourcing opinions.
- They were refining their positioning, preparing career stories, and doing mock interviews when no one was watching.
So when the market started moving, they were already miles ahead of people who were just hoping things would improve.
There’s a James Clear quote I come back to often:

That distinction matters. So let me ask you directly:
Are you being patient while taking action?
Or are you just waiting for the market, your boss, or luck to change something for you?

- That’s what turns a “better market” into real outcomes.
