A 5-MINUTE NETWORKING HACK THAT CAN TRANSFORM YOUR 2026

As we wrap up the year, I want to share one of my favourite year-end rituals - a tiny but powerful networking hack that takes less than five minutes and pays back all year long.

Here’s what to do:

The 5-Minute Year-End Networking Hack

1. Take a timer and set it for five minutes. 
2. Write down the names of people you want to reconnect with - mentors, ex-bosses, peers, or even that one person who gave you great advice months ago.
3. Send them a simple note. No requests, no follow-ups, just gratitude.

Something like this:

“Hey [Name], as I wrap up the year, I thought of all the people who’ve made an impact in my career and job search - and your name popped up.

Thank you for your time, guidance, and support this year. Wishing you a wonderful holiday season and an amazing start to 2026!”

Bonus point if you can add something specific about their advice or what they offered.

Just a genuine message that tells them you value their presence in your professional journey.
